Tug of War

Alistair Morgan, Ashbourne Highland Committee Member has written the following:-

The tug of war has developed into one of the major attractions of the show.

In the beginning we were fortunate to bring on board Mr Ken Unwin from Whiston Staffordshire, a well known and much respected figure in the 'tug of war world' and Ken was instrumental in building the reputation of the event we have today. However as time went on Ken was finding harder to continue and he introduced us to Steve Gardner of the federation and along with the sheer professionalism of Steve the event has got even bigger and we are confident of even better competitions to come.

Therefore I can say with all confidence on behalf of the Gathering committee we are proud to be associated with tug of war and the federation.
