Gathering will be going ahead
ASHBOURNE'S Highland Gathering
will go ahead next year, the News
Telegraph can exclusively reveal.
Despite a wet weekend last year
adding to a series of recent problems
for the organising committee of the
annual piping festival members last
week voted to continue the tradition
for another year.
Due to take place on Sunday, July 15,
the one-day event has suffered a
turbulent few years following a quarter
of a century of huge successes but last
year's event managed to scrape a small
profit.
The 20l2 event, which is going ahead
on a reduced budget, will still feature
all the crowd favourites and will be
dedicated to the Queen's jubilee.
